We believe in the powerful combination of adventure & equality. Everyday is an opportunity to explore and every adventure offers the chance to make the world a better place. In Nepal, the word 'takuro' means the summit of the mountain which we find, as a metaphor, inspiring. The Nepali people declared the Himalayan peaks had spiritual significance. To us they represent the epitome of adventure and freedom, something we value above all else.
Our products are made here in the UK by skilled craftsmen. Britain has a rich heritage of manufacturing and we're proud to be a part of this. It allows us to maintain a high level of quality while supporting the local economy. Our main factory is based in the heartland of English industry, producing our iconic backpacks from entirely British fabrics and hardware. Wool hats are manufactured from the highest quality, pure lambs wool in Scotland and our rare Cashmere is sourced from farms high up in Nepal’s Himalayas. Our unique leather + steel accessory components are produced in Sheffield, the home of steel, and then assembled in our facilities in London.

Here at Takuro, we want others to benefit from the things we make. We believe in a new age of ethical industry that puts design and equality before all else. Our ethos is to craft beautiful things and to use the profits to help evoke change in the lives of outcast widows in Nepal, who have suffered generations of discrimination. Partnered with the charity WHR-SWG (Women for Human Rights - Single Woman's Group) which is based in Nepal, we help to fund their incredible initiatives that support these women and their families.
